For Poets and Lovers of Poetry

The Poetry Society of Colorado (PSC) is a historic 503(c)3 institution in Colorado. It was first organized in 1921 to "cultivate the love of poetry and to encourage poetic talent throughout the state."  This statement was later simplified to "promote the study, writing, and performance of poetry…" Over the years our organization has expanded its membership horizons to broaden our reach. You no longer have to be a resident of Colorado to become a full member.

As our mission is to promote the study, writing, and performance of poetry, we pursue our education goals by offering a wide range of workshops and events throughout the year, with some in person and others via Zoom to accommodate our remote members.  We feel that these offer our members the opportunity to broaden the poets' scope of through knowledge and networking.

We also sponsor monthly contests, each judged by an outside expert in poetry. This affords the poet an opportunity to receive feedback and learn how to improve their work.
